Happy 10th Anniversary to My Blog

It's been 10 years since I started my blog with "Choosing a Car to Buy in Japan".

That was followed the same day by "Essentials for a First-Time Parent", and then another 10 years and 2,327 additional articles (not counting this one 😉) containing 18,133 photos, as well as other little additions such as the interactive map of blog photos and the sporadically-maintained prettiest-photos photostream.

今日は私のブログの十年記念日です。十年間、2,329件、写真18,133枚。

I would have liked to post something spectacular for my tenth-anniversary post, but having just returned to Kyoto from a long trip to The States, I just don't have the energy.

Back in Kyoto (Spring 2015 Edition)

After a day of uneventful flying, we've ended our month-long RV trip across the US and now we're back in Kyoto.

ただいま!京都に戻りました。

Now comes the daunting task of unpacking, processing my photos, checking a month's worth of email, dealing with a month's worth of blog comments about my plugins, and doing my US taxes. If I can complete all this, I'll need a vacation!

Ohio Amish Farm

After crossing the Rockies and leaving Denver, we drove 1,500 miles to make our way to Ohio to visit my folks. It was chilly at 17°F. Today we took a leisurely drive around some Amish country in northeast Ohio, and even though the countryside is still stuck in the blah of winter, it's remarkably beautiful country.

Dinner at Der Dutchman was a fantastic followup.

Tomorrow we return the RV and head to the airport.

デンヴァー市から東へ、2,500kmの運転の後、僕が育った所(オハイオ州)に到着しました。 今日は実家から一時間位離れているアーミッシュの田舎を見に行きました。平穏な所です。

明日は空港へ。

Vacation Update: Crossing the Rockies

After arriving in Grand Junction Colorado and overnighting at the exceedingly clean and reasonable Junction West RV Park, we made our way farther east toward Denver...

Last night we overnighted at the overpriced and under-featured Dakota Ridge RV Park during a fierce windstorm that knocked the power out to the whole area. Very pleasant weather this morning to push farther east, though we haven't decided yet whether to go via I-80 or I-70...

Vacation Update: Bryce Canyon Hike

After visiting Bryce Canyon National Park yesterday mostly by car, today we went back for a short hike.

This evening we're in Grand Junction, Colorado, four hours out from Denver. We'll probably stay in Denver tomorrow.
