Lr5.3RC Fixes That Ugly Publish Bug (I think)

Today Adobe released a release candidate for Lightroom 5.3, which I believe fixes the nasty Lr5 Publish/Selection bug I've written about. If you give 5.3RC a try, let me know whether it seems to be fixed for you as well...

I could reproduce the issue consistently with 5.2 (and ealier) and with 5.3RC it’s gone, yay!

Hi there,

Since the new Version Flickr Export do not work and I get this message:

Yielding is not allowed within a C or metamethod call

BR,
Chris.

Please update; a bad version was out there for a few minutes, but a newer one followed quickly. —Jeffrey

There is still very similar bug in 5.3RC (has been around since 5.0).

Hi, facebook plug in tell me when i was adding a new album… Error reply from facebook: An unsuspected error has occured. Please retry your request later.
I was requesting but it does not work.

Sounds like a common hiccup from Facebook… trying the same thing again often works. If it remains persistently broken over time, perhaps send a log with details… —Jeffrey

Yep, I am happy that this bug got fixed. I noted your initial OMG-it-ate-the-file post well over a year ago, and put off upgrading. If it is now stable, I shall upgrade to Lr 5.5 before the Lr 6 program possibly disappears behind the cloud next month (March 2015). Thanks.

It’s been stable for some time now. —Jeffrey
