very long shot at 1000mm
Going through the photos from our recent trip to Awaji Island, most recently mentioned in the previous late-afternoon sun at a beach post, I noticed that I had a lot of geometricish “interesting shapes” photos (such as the opening shot in last week's “Hyakudanen: 100 Terraced Garden Squares” post).
I was collection some of them for a post when I came across this one, and thought that it might make for a “What am I?” quiz. The previous quiz (the more geometrically-simple Egg-Slicer “What am I?” Quiz) yielded an unexpectedly broad and entertaining collection of answers, so it'll be interesting to see what this more complex entry garners...
Unlike the previous quiz, the image metadata this time practically gives the answer away.
Hello,
it seems to be the underpass for pedestrians on a suspension bridge.
The very strong crowning gives the impression of a very short bridge but looking on the focal lenght… it even could be the Akashikaikyô-ôbashi. Well, definitely there are “fuse-boxes” or some sort of iremono containing technical equipment attached to the pillars on the right side.
Greetings from Vienna
Johannes
A pedestrian bridge over a road or waterway?
A bridge, passenger most likely. And yes I did take a glance at the meta data to confirm my guess.
A bridge? Probably over a fish farm? I’m puzzled by the “lockers” on the right…..
Not sure why you have had no guesses here. I can’t say that I really know, but it looks like a pedestrian bridge.
I also wanted to point you to my daily blip at http://www.blipfoto.com/4boys I know that some time ago I asked you for some help in setting up a photo blog, and you asked me to send you the url if I ever did so. Well blipfoto works very well for me. Just an image a day. I’ve been doing it for the last 3 months now. Quite addictive.
The answer is given on this post.
