Some random desktop backgrounds in my photo library from the past year. I used these as practice with the new render engine in Lightroom 4, which I like but am not completely used to yet.

Often, a photo here is from some trip or event that I already blogged about; the “nearby photos” link under each image brings you to related posts.

Just as an aside, I’m going to start creating some of my desktop wallpapers in “new iPad” size: 2048 x 1536.

That’s an interesting idea. I like pretty pictures for my computer’s desktop background, but I like calm (unbusy) pictures on my iPad that don’t conspire with a field of busy icons to give me a headache. I like to show images with the iPad, but not via the desktop background. Maybe I’m alone in this feeling. (I’ve never liked Apple’s default desktop background and screen-lock image… they give the impression that the screen has a scratch!) —Jeffrey

どの写真も素晴らしいですが、特に”No Fishing”が気に入りました。私のデスクトップバックグラウンドになっています。おじさんの全く気にしていない素振りが最高です。こういう風にみんな生きていけたらいいですね。
