I thought I was beat after the long drive yesterday, but today was a whole new level, so I'm absolutely exhausted, so tonight just this unchallenging “What am I?” quiz. It's something fairly common, but uncommon to see this close.
I can't imagine anyone would be stumped, but if you are, following the “full exif” link under the photo will certainly clear things up....

I believe that part number is a bridge support on the Nishi-Seto Expressway and looking at the shadows I’d guess the photo was taken a couple seconds shy of 12:16pm.
Looks like some part of a gantry, but more likely part of that bridge?
