I took a look at the LUA source code for your modules… whew!

Almost as bad as the Klingon based web gallery templates in Lightroom.

I am using your Flickr exporter and it works great, but what does it do with the local copy of the resized image? I would have thought it would use the same instructions in the original Lightroom Export code which allows you to choose the Export Location. This code seems to be missing in the Flickr Exporter…

Did you get the version I posted recently (20071125.5), which has the new “Save to Local Disk” section?

It don’t use the standard “Export Location” dialog section because then you’d have to select the location even when not wishing to save a local copy. I’d think that most people would not want a local copy, so it made sense for me to replicate it in a way what those who don’t want it can just ignore it. —Jeffrey

First off, Thank you! I know this is a lot of work.

I am getting the same error as springtian reported, but with regards to loading to Zenfolio. Occurs whether or not I select 1 or multiple images. The first image is uploadeded successfully, though. It does take ~30 seconds (guess) to see it online in Zenfolio once the error does occur.

Just wanted to say thanks for this excellent plugin. It’s something I always wished for since using LR. I guess Christmas came early :). I’ve used Picasaweb in the past. It’s quite nice and in some ways better than Flickr. I’d still be using Picasa if Yahoo didn’t give me a free pro Flickr account since they trashed their own Photo site.

Another thought — I happen to use Costco Photo for printing. Any considerations for a plugin to major photo printing service? Costco actually uses Snapfish.

I seem to be the only one, but I downloaded the plug-in, I see it in Finder, but when I perform your suggested test on an export, I don’t have the SmugMug option — only the original “Export to Disk”.

I get the same error as “Springtian” but not with Flickr but with zenfolio.

“An internal error has occurred: Win32 API error (unknown error — FormatMessageW failed) when calling HttpSendRequest from private_AgHttpClient_post_L”

When I have multiple photo’s selected for export this error occures after the first one is uploaded (the first photo of the batch is uploaded to zenfolio since I can view it but the others are not uploaded). maybe this helps find the problem.

I’m using your flickr plugin and first let me say, thanks a lot! 2 things I’ve noticed though:

1. The resize image doesn’t seem to work. I resize my ‘long edge’ to 1600 and my images are coming through at their original size.
2. It’s very slow. Previously, I was exporting to disk and using the ‘After Export’ option to run the flickr uploader. This is far, far quicker than exporting via your plugin. Any ideas? I’ve got a good machine with 4Gb RAM and I’m running lightroom 1.3.1 on Leopard if that’s any use. My upload link is pretty decent as well, 1.3Mbits/sec. Like I say, the official uploader is plenty fast so I don’t think it’s anything on my end. Are there any debug files I can take a look at?

Thank you so much! This is just what I was looking for. I usually us Phanfare to display my photos but they are changing their business model and the site is changing its focus leaving pro users like myself out of luck. However, you may want to consider their site for an uploading plug in.

I’m dying to put the smugpug LR plug-in to use, but for some reason, the export function fails to see my existing galleries on Smugmug, and will not allow me to create new ones. The ‘Export’ button remains dimmed out and I can’t export anything . . . I must be doing something wrong, but cannot figure it out. Any help would be appreciated.

I am very excited about this as well, but I have been getting the same error as a few of the others. If I try to upload multiple images the first uploads and the rest fail. I am on a Powerbook and going from Lightroom to Zenfolio. Any ideas on what to try/change to get it to work?

I need help BADLY. I am a GREEN person – not an energy saving type – in knowledge about the use of downloads. Yesterday I downloaded Jeff’s Flickr dodad, found it on my hard drive in a subfolder of Lightroom1.3.1, tried to bring it into lightroom with no success. Flickr in Lightroom is greyed out. Somehow I redownloaded Lightroom 1.3.1 and could no longer open up Lightroom – error message ” see further instructions for missing…”. Panic set in. I wnt to Adobe web site and saw that there was a Lightroom 1.4.1 available for download. Did it and was able to open Lightroom – all seams to be O.K. However, I still have greyed out Flickr. The download is still on my harddrive along with Lightroom 1.1, 1.3.1 and 1.4.1 – as far as I am concerned, all garbage – I thought that when one dowloads a revision the old version is replaced – not so with Adobe. IF SOMEONE CAN HELP ME I would be most appreciative. I need hand holding and a detailed walk through.
I would like to Export from the Lightroom Library module directly to my Flickr pro- account, after any adjustments have been made – in a small size, without having to send to a spot on my hard drive – which I later can not readily find.

I am a REGULAR user of the flickr & facebook plugin’s. I am a user of phanfare as well, and they provide that.

I do print at Costco and would welcome that if it was ever added. Not sure how that would work out, but just thought i would mention it. Not so sure enough people use it, but just thought i would mention it.

Thank you very much for your efforts. I am about to test it as there has been a big disconnect between Lightroom and Flickr. I like Lightroom but have some scratching my head moments in it as there are still many things missing important to photographers just a nice image fame with text without workarounds would be nice and should have been in 1.1 at the latest. Another good head scratcher is why it is named Photoshop as well but you cannot get it packaged with Photoshop. It has nothing that I can tell in common with Photoshop other than the same company developed it. Must be an Adobe marketing thing to latch on the brandname recognition. I thought for sure I would be able to purchase in one of the too many Adobe product suites.

I, too, dislike the “Photoshop” name, because Lightroom is so very different than Photoshop. But they do share one very important point, and that’s the Adobe Camera Raw rendering engine. This means nothing to you as a user if you use only one or the other, but it can mean a lot if you use both (Photoshop can see your Lightroom changes “as is”, without the need for a quality-reducing intermediate render). As for the “should have been in version 1.1 at the latest” comment, everyone has feelings about what’s important to them, and so no one will be happy, ever, with the mix of features unless you realize that it’s a balance. Try to imagine, hypothetically speaking, that Lightroom was actually developed by humans. If that were the case, there would be limits on how much time each person could spend each day (24 hours), and so they’d have to actually pick and choose what, from the infinite number of features people hope for, which to implement. They’d also have to choose between development and distractions (like eating, sleeping, spending time with their children). —Jeffrey

Have you looked into creating an export to Kodak EasyGallary? This is built into Adobe’s Bridge and I really miss it in Lightroom.

It’s there in the LR2 version of the plugin. It’s not possible in LR1. —Jeffrey

Another vote for a Fotki Lightroom plugin, please. Fotki is a great service, and it would be wonderful if I could export to it directly from Lightroom. I am trying your Facebook plugin, and it seems excellent. I will be sending you some Paypal cash shortly. Please consider adding a plugin for Fotki. It would be so worth it for me to pay for such a plugin, since I have more than 70,000 images there, and growing! Thank you.
