I was going to post this with a caption that I had in mind while taking it, but when I asked a friend how he'd caption it, he came up with something on a completely different tack that surprised me. So before I bias you with my caption or his, I thought I'd request others' thoughts, too.
So as not to prejudice later readers, I'll hold all comments in moderation for a day or so.
UPDATE: subbmitted suggestions are now showing below — Thanks! — and my followup post has desktop-background versions of the image, as well as my thoughts on the caption.

Leafy Trail –
Very neat photos – I really enjoy seeing what’s next everyday – As an amateur photographer, You are one of those that I would really like to learn from. I now have the equipment, but the composition is what I am working on now. One of the things that I would love to read about, would be what your workflow is (from shoot to computer). The other question would be, what settings on your camera do you normally shoot with. I notice that you have a WB card with you at your last shoot. Really just wondering how you capture the richness of the colors.
I know that you may not have time to answer, due to the “busyness” of your schedule, just know that your work does not go un-admired. I will still keep looking everyday and try to figure out all of the intricacies of the art of photography. Thanks for all that you do!

1. The original “Layered Look.”
2. A study in layers
3. “Strata”
I see “layers” but I also see “elements”, maybe “element layers” or “elemental layers”? Very interesting photo. Good luck with the caption!
I like “Streams” for this.
‘Fall strata’
Immediate thought: strata.
what is it? a path strewn with autum leaves??
the caption.I’ll probably go with ‘sleepy’ cos I’m seeing a sleeping face there ;D
Le edge.
“Colors in Motion”
“Stilllife in Motion”
“Aki no Kehai” 🙂
Multi Layered Fall
I really like it. I would go with “strata,” as in “geological.”
“Layers”
Best I can manage is “Leaf Reef”.
Well, the maple leaves are a little bit like starfish…
Layers
Autumn, layered upon time
Hello ,
Your photo immediatly suggested these Veraline’s verses:
“Les sanglots longs des violons de l’automne
Blessent mon cœur d’une langueur monotone.”
They describe the atmosphere of your photo
It could be horribly translated by:
“The long complaints of Autumn Violins
Harm my heart by monotonous languor”
These Verlaine’s verses are famous , because they were broadcasted on BBC , June 5Th 1944
Organic Seven Layer Salad
Horizontal Banding
The photo is strikingly odd because there is almost no sense of perspective; it appears two-dimensional. It’s as if someone took six textures, cut them into strips, and put them together. This would make a perfect desktop picture.
“Leaf Lemmings”
Thanks for the many ideas… it’s wonderful to see others’ thoughts.
I’ve now posted a followup with my own ideas on the caption, as well as a bit about the location.
