Eigenji Temple (永源寺)in Shiga Japan
early morning, fall 2018
Considering that my last blog post was more than five months ago, I guess it's safe to say that for the most part I'm taking a break from blogging. But having recently came across photos from a last-year outing to temples in Shiga, Japan, I thought I'd post a few.

Spectacular as always. Both the subject and the photography. Great to see you post, it really helps me to imagine travelling to a bucket list location. One day….
Nice fall colors!
I hope your blog-break will be over soon. Your photos keep Kyoto fresh in my mind. Best wishes.
Very happy to find your blog updated!
Your blog constitutes an enormous and wonderful archive and resource, and I was sad when it appeared to have dried up a few months ago. However, I can well understand the massive commitment of your time required to maintain it since 2005, for which I and many others are truly appreciative. In these times when the world doesn’t seem a very happy place, it is a balm to the soul to be able to lose oneself browsing your posts and photographs over the years.
I was amused to see the Jorogumo spider in the last photograph, as I was always delighted to come across them and their enormous and very strong webs during my long-ago visits to Japan.
Really wonderful, extremely beautiful photographs, one can feel a powerful impact! Now I will have something to put as my autumn desktop background for 2020. Thank you very much.
I’ve only just recently found your blog and have enjoyed browsing through it’s content. I can relate to what you’ve written about motivation. As a portrait and wedding photographer (among other things :), the money is secondary to the joy that a photo can bring to a bride and groom or someone who claims to never have had a good portrait taken. Sadly, money is required to live in this world, but the human connection is truly priceless.
