Coming home from our trip to Portland today I was happy to find a box of books from my publisher, O'Reilly. It seems that they were able to get my book out earlier than expected. (Yikes, I don't have the web site updated yet!)
The timing is good, because I'll be at O'Reilly's booth at LinuxWorld tomorrow for a bit (Tuesday, from 12:30 pm) to sign books, and now I'll be able to do so with the new edition.

I’m reading your book on regexs. On pg 33 I ran across your schaffkopf story. I grew up playing this game, but since moving to another area of the country have not found anyone that knows it. I hope you enjoy it as much as I use to.
BTW, thanks for the book. It is well done.
Hi Jeffrey,
Just reading the third edition online at Safari Books. I have the print copy of the second edition, and so skipped right to the PHP chapter. So far I’ve gotten a lot out of it, but it is extremely typo ridden. I hope that the print edition somehow went through an extra layer of proofreading. Dunno where one would report errata, and I’m sure these have already been found. Just thought I’d let you know since it seems like something that could be quickly fixed in the online version.
P.S. Different post, but holy crap the bento Fumie made was amazing looking.
UltraBob, I’ve heard reports about problems with the Safari version.
The only copy of the book that O’Reilly has are the camera-ready PDFs that I supplied (from which the book was printed). Perhaps they’ve got some processing error when extracting the PDFs for Safari use(?) I’ve sent them a note to ask about it. Sorry for the hassels…..
awesome book.. esp the first edition.. the depth and style and effort is simply mind boggling. i started reading the first edition and bought the second edition. even though the fun aspect was a bit diluted on this edition, I treasure it.
keep up the good work. i’m your fan.
ps: forgive my english..
