Yesterday was the annual bazaar for part of the school system associated with Anthony's preschool, with the highlight for the preschoolers being a mini steam locomotive that actually works, and pulls kids and adults alike around a little track.
Of course, it makes for a great photo op, so the cameras were out in force....

Yoko-chan's Daddy, and Zak
I loaned my Nikkor 70-200/2.8 to the dad of one of Anthony's classmates (Yoko-chan's Daddy) to try on his Nikon D50, while my friend Zak uses my Nikkor 18-200 VR on his Fuji S5 Pro. (I used Yoko-chan's Daddy's 18-200 VR to take that shot.)

It was hot, so I had on my “geeky hat,” which is exquisitely practical for a sunny day, but utterly devoid of any semblance of style. (It's a Sunday Afternoons Adventure Hat, worth every penny of its US$38 cost.)

I love picture above. I saw the train coming and Yoko-chan's Daddy preparing for a shot, so I moved so that I'd get the shot looking over his shoulder. I like the result.
The most difficult time at photography was had by my friend Arthur because his daughter, Monet, would cover her face every time he tried to take a picture.

Although you certainly can't tell in the picture above, Monet is one of the most sweet, captivating, photogenic beauties on the face of the planet. I have no idea how I've neglected to feature her on my blog so far. (To remedy that, a wonderful shot of Monet from last year's train ride ends this post.)
Her sister, May, (behind her on the train) made her debut on my blog using chopsticks at the tender age of just-turned-two, and was on one of the Anthony's Sports Day posts.
Coming around a second time, she gives Daddy the same treatment....

Arthur, a pure and kind soul, was completely clueless that she was doing this explicitly to torment him. (He'd explained to me that “she's very shy.”) Ha! I knew that she was just having fun with him, so I filled him in. These observations were quickly confirmed as she got off the train and ran over to him, tongue sticking out....
