Birds lined up on the veranda the other day looked cute. Snapped some shots.

Even though I have no love for sparrows, I always LOVE your captions. These made me chuckle.

Have you ever tried making a composite of images with different focal distances so that the end result looks all in focus from back to front? It might be interesting to try it with the little birds.

By the way, how far away were the birds when you made the photos?

That’s called “focus stacking”, and I’ve never tried it, and I suspect that it would be difficult with a moving subject. I could have just used a smaller aperture, I suppose, but I tend to like the big-aperture effect. The birds were probably about 10 meters (a city-bus length) away. —Jeffrey
