The weather has been really nice lately, and with my cold improving\nenough to move around, I thought<\/span> it'd do me good to get out and enjoy the\nfresh air. Fumie had been watching Anthony most of the day, so I took<\/span> the\nopportunity to take him with me to the park, him to ride his bike and me to\ntake a nap<\/span> on a bench.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

I didn't bring my camera (that whole “being sick” thing has its\ndownsides), but was able to dip into my archives for photos to illustrate\ntoday's post.<\/p>\n\n

The bench I snoozed on is the one directly behind the statue in this\nshot, taken on a cold,<\/span> rainy day seven months ago, this past April toward\nthe end of cherry-blossom season:<\/p>\n\n

Unlike when the photo was taken, today's weather was perfect<\/i> to\nlie down on a bench,<\/span> throw a hat<\/span> over your eyes, and just relax. It was neither<\/span> warm nor cold, just perfect. There was a pleasant<\/span> breeze rustling\nthe leaves on the big tree shading me, and (also unlike in the photo) the\nfountain was going full blast, so that was really pleasant as well.<\/p>\n\n

Perfect.<\/p>\n\n

This little plaza is just off the park where Anthony rides his bike a\nlot<\/span> (including his first\ntime on a bike<\/span><\/a>, and his first time to ride by\nhimself<\/a>). Besides being a park<\/span> where Anthony likes to play, it's full\nof cherry and plum trees that blossom wonderfully in the spring, and turn\nall kinds of wonderful colors in the fall. Looking at the nearby photos<\/a>\nlink for the shot above yields all kinds of prettiness.<\/p>\n\n

Anyway, today, just like that day, Anthony passed his time by riding his\nbike. Since I need<\/span> only the thinnest of pretexts to show pictures of my\nkid, here are some more of him riding his bike on that cold April\nmorning....<\/p>\n\n

He did the “daring perimeter walk” thing today, too.<\/p>\n\n

My snooze today was, I'm sure, much more relaxing than this person's on that cold morning....<\/p>\n\n

It was just starting to lightly sprinkle as I took<\/span> that shot. Bummer.<\/p>\n\n

Anthony eventually had enough riding around, so we started to head home,\nbut when we came upon the local playground, he had to stop in. I continued<\/span> to relax as he swung on the swing, a feat<\/span> he's been able to do all by\nhimself only since, well, today. (The lateness being quite shocking, since\nit's common to see two-year-olds swing all by themselves.)<\/p>\n\n

The look on his face was his first reaction to me sticking the camera\nright up close to where he was swinging, in order to get the kind of\npicture you see at the top of this post. He quickly<\/span> had fun making silly faces as he came close.\n(I've done this kind of thing since, such as here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n\n

This is the same playground featured in my posts about two of my lenses,\nmy Nikkor 70<\/span>-200mm f\/2.8\nVR<\/a> and my Nikkor\n17<\/span>-55mm f\/2.8<\/a> (and lots more other random posts, as the nearby photos<\/a>\nshows).<\/p>\n\n

Anyway, just to show that I can<\/i> get a somewhat<\/span> focused shot while\nhe's swinging, even if only by luck, here's a nice<\/span> portrait of him\nmid-swing...<\/p>\n\n
