That makes for an\noverall savings of several hours compared the Cleveland\/Chicago\/San\nFrancisco\/Kansai flight I've done many times on United Airlines. <span class='nobr'>The shorter<\/span> trip is wonderful, but one unfortunate side effect is that the\nlongest leg is now 14 hours instead of 12 hours, which is, well,\n<i>long<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n<p>We actually arrived half an hour early, and to <span class='nobr'>a wonderful<\/span> sunset. <span class='nobr'>To top it<\/span> off, there was absolutely no waiting for immigration, luggage, or\ncustoms. Shockingly, my two bags were the fourth and fifth bags to emerge\non the little conveyer, which started just as we walked up. How\nwonderful.<\/p>\n\n<p>Like last year, Fumie and her mom met us and gave me <span class='nobr'>a key<\/span> to <span class='nobr'>a room<\/span> at\nthe on-airport hotel. They took Anthony for the two-hour drive home, which\nallowed me to shower and sleep right away.<\/p>\n\n<p>Except this year, I didn't sleep right away.<\/p>\n\n<p>While I was in Ohio, Fumie had picked up the <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2008-07-01\/854\">Nikon D700<\/a> and new lenses\nI'd ordered, and had left them in the hotel room for me.
