Today in Northeast Ohio was sunny in the morning, turning to mostly\nbroken overcast and occasional light rain in the afternoon. I was inside<\/span>\nmost of the day, but when I saw<\/span> some bright sun around 7pm, I ventured<\/span> outside and down to the lake for a look.<\/span> It started<\/span> sprinkling almost right\naway, but I was<\/span> treated to a small<\/span> rainbow.<\/p>\n\n

(Upon reviewing the images, I see that<\/span> it was a double<\/span> rainbow, but I hadn't<\/span> noticed at the time, perhaps because I was<\/span> getting wet.)<\/p>\n\n

This was my first rainbow in a while, since a bunch<\/span> of rainbows<\/a> in\nJanuary. None of them even come close to a rainbow<\/span> I saw<\/span> in Kyoto last\nyear, but couldn't get the camera in time to take a picture<\/span> of. Because I\nwas<\/span> bummed about missing the picture, Anthony colored a picture<\/span> of a\nrainbow<\/span><\/a> for me. It was sweet<\/span>. (A friend<\/span> who saw it did snap a shot<\/span><\/a> with one hand,\nwhile driving with the other.)<\/p>\n\n

Anyway, back to today. As I mentioned yesterday<\/a>, the\nweather has been dynamic, so even though it was dark and overcast, there\nwere still patches of brightness, and some deep blue sky peeking\nthrough...<\/p>\n\n

They say in Ohio “If you don't like the weather, wait a minute.<\/span>” and\ntrue to form, the opening in the clouds that had allowed the sun to stream\nthrough quickly moved on, so I lost<\/span> the sun, and soon the rainbow followed\n(although a bit<\/span> is still visible in the next shot)...<\/p>\n\n

An hour later, not long before sunset, I noticed<\/span> the sun peek out again,\nso I went<\/span> again to take a look.<\/span> No rain this<\/span> time, and no rainbow, but the\ngolden sunset light was decidedly harsh on the backdrop of gray, slightly\npurplish clouds...<\/p>\n\n\n
