We had a short rain shower today – standard fare for an Ohio\nsummer<\/a> – and Anthony wanted to go out in it to play. At first<\/span> he\nran around with childlike abandon, and I snapped<\/span> some shots with my Nikkor\n85mm f\/1.4, but for some reason every one was horribly out of focus. I\ndidn't<\/span> notice anything wrong at the time, but anyway, I wanted<\/span> to get\ncloser without getting wet, so I switched<\/span> to\nmy Nikkor 70<\/span>-200mm.<\/p>\n\n

In the short minute that it took for me to get the lens and switch,\nAnthony's mood went from arms-swinging-around-dancing-like-a-kid play to,\nas the photo above shows, somewhat serious and a little<\/span> concerned.<\/p>\n\n

I'm not exactly sure what the issue was, but he soon came in and got\nsome dry clothes. The rain stopped<\/span> soon after.<\/p>\n\n

In the evening, I was at<\/span> a restaurant<\/span> and stepped out to find some\nspectacular post-sunset colors...<\/p>\n\n

Sadly, some of the brighter deep, rich scarlet pinks bumped up against\nthe dynamic-range limit of the camera, and so ended up as oranges and\nyellows. Sigh. Maybe I should<\/span> have done HDR<\/a> or something to save\nthe true colors.<\/p>\n\n
