During last month's trip to Amami Ooshima<\/a> (a\nsouthern<\/span>-Japan island in the East China Sea), the big attraction for\nAnthony at our hotel<\/a>\nwas a swing.<\/span> Out behind<\/span> the gift shop was a spooky-style tree<\/a> with\nthree swings hanging from it, and a bunch<\/span> of netting above to allow kids to\nclimb its expansive branches in safety.<\/p>\n\n

His favorite by far was the orange buoy, which he sat on while I pushed<\/span>\nor swung him around.<\/p>\n\n\n

Of course, focus and composition were also a challenge,<\/span> doing everything\nwith one hand while pushing him with the other, all the while having a\ncold.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Besides the swing that climbing on the rocks, Anthony also really\nenjoyed playing with other kids who happened to be staying at the same\ntime....<\/p>\n\n

The day we left, we went to say “bye” to the boys he'd been playing\nwith, and found them by the swings getting ready for some snorkeling. His way of<\/span> saying “bye” was to get pushed super high on the swing, saying\n“watch!”. Kids are the same all over.<\/p>\n\n

The big huge spooky tree with the swings seemed perfect for climbing,\nbut, quite surprisingly, Anthony had very little interest. He tried<\/span> it\nonce, and returned to the swings.<\/p>\n\n
