{"id":762,"date":"2008-03-14T12:59:03","date_gmt":"2008-03-14T03:59:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/regex.info\/blog\/2008-03-14\/762"},"modified":"2008-03-14T12:59:03","modified_gmt":"2008-03-14T03:59:03","slug":"lightroom-14-minor-update","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regex.info\/blog\/2008-03-14\/762","title":{"rendered":"Lightroom 1.4: Minor Update"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n<div style='background-color:#242; padding: 20px 30px; margin: 20px 30px;\nborder: solid 2px white'><p>\n\n<b>Update April 11th, 2008<\/b>\n<br\/><span class='nobr'>Lightroom 1.4.<\/span>1 has now been released to address the problems discussed below.\nDownload links are <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/lightroomjournal\/2008\/04\/lightroom_141_and_camera_raw_4.html\">here<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n<div style='background-color:#422; padding: 20px 30px; margin: 20px 30px;\nborder: solid 2px blue'><p>Yikes, it seems that 1.4 has a bug: the &#8220;time\ntaken&#8221; is set to midnight in copies of the file that are exported. <span class='nobr'>The Lightroom<\/span> database and the original files maintain the correct time, but\nwhen you export <span class='nobr'>a copy<\/span> (e.g. to upload somewhere), the time is reset to\nmidnight.<\/p>\n\n<p>This is most unfortunate. I don't know whether <span class='nobr'>I can<\/span> work around it in\nthe plugins. Until this is resolved, <span class='nobr'>I'd recommend<\/span> staying with 1.3 unless\nthe benifits of 1.4 are worth it for you.<\/p>\n\n<p>Drat.<\/p>\n\n<p>For those wishing to move back to 1.3.1, here are the links:\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/support\/downloads\/detail.jsp?ftpID=3815\">Windows<\/a>\n&middot;\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/support\/downloads\/detail.jsp?ftpID=3810\">Mac<\/a>\n<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>Adobe has just released a very minor upgrade to Lightroom, version 1.4,\navailable for <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/www.adobe.com\/products\/photoshoplightroom\/\">free download\nhere<\/a>. The &#8220;Color Noise&#8221; setting is now enabled even when you switch to\ngrayscale, and there is some kind of fix related to the &#8220;Calibrate&#8221; panel\nin the Develop module (whatever that is).<\/p>\n\n<p class='h'>My Plugins<\/p>\n\n\n<p>The update reveals a boo-boo in my plugins &ndash; <span class='nobr'>I neglected<\/span> to\nindicate &#8220;or later&#8221; when specifying that they were designed for <span class='nobr'>Lightroom\n1.3<\/span> &ndash; so if you upgrade to <span class='nobr'>Lightroom 1.4,<\/span> you'll need to pull <span class='nobr'>a new<\/span>\nversion of the plugin from the appropriate page:<\/p>\n\n<ul style=\"margin-top: 5px;\">\n<li><a class=\"quiet\" href=\"\/blog\/photo-tech\/lightroom-zenfolio\/\">Lightroom Export Plugin for Zenfolio<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"quiet\" href=\"\/blog\/photo-tech\/lightroom-smugmug\/\">Lightroom Export Plugin for SmugMug<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"quiet\" href=\"\/blog\/photo-tech\/lightroom-flickr\/\">Lightroom Export Plugin for Flickr<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a class=\"quiet\" href=\"\/blog\/photo-tech\/lightroom-picasaweb\/\">Lightroom Export Plugin for Picasa Web<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p><span class='nobr'>Lightroom 1.4<\/span> doesn't really show very much progress, especially for so\nmuch time having passed since 1.3 came out. <span class='nobr'>It might<\/span> lead one to suppose\nthat they've been busy with other things, perhaps the &#8220;new and\nimproved versions of Lightroom&#8221; that Lightroom product manager Tom\nHogarty <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/blogs.adobe.com\/lightroomjournal\/2008\/01\/scott_kelbys_lightroom_wishlis.html\">wrote\nabout<\/a> in January.
