\n\nUpdate April 11th, 2008<\/b>\nLightroom 1.4.<\/span>1 has now been released to address the problems discussed below.\nDownload links are here<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n\n\n

Yikes, it seems that 1.4 has a bug: the “time\ntaken” is set to midnight in copies of the file that are exported. The Lightroom<\/span> database and the original files maintain the correct time, but\nwhen you export a copy<\/span> (e.g. to upload somewhere), the time is reset to\nmidnight.<\/p>\n\n

This is most unfortunate. I don't know whether I can<\/span> work around it in\nthe plugins. Until this is resolved, I'd recommend<\/span> staying with 1.3 unless\nthe benifits of 1.4 are worth it for you.<\/p>\n\n

Adobe has just released a very minor upgrade to Lightroom, version 1.4,\navailable for free download\nhere<\/a>. This comes about four months after Lightroom 1.3<\/span><\/a> and its support for\nexport plugins was released.<\/p>\n\n

Full details are in the Lightroom\n1.4<\/span> ReadMe<\/a>, but in short this upgrade adds support for some new\ncameras, and fixes a few<\/span> bugs (but unfortunately, not the\n“FormatMessageW failed” uploading bug some Windows users of\nplugins have seen).<\/p>\n\n

Bug Fixes<\/p>\n\n

The big fix is enhanced compatibility for printing on OS X 10.5\n(Leopard). The “Color Noise” setting is now enabled even when you switch to\ngrayscale, and there is some kind of fix related to the “Calibrate” panel\nin the Develop module (whatever that is).<\/p>\n\n

My Plugins<\/p>\n\n\n

The update reveals a boo-boo in my plugins – I neglected<\/span> to\nindicate “or later” when specifying that they were designed for Lightroom\n1.3<\/span> – so if you upgrade to Lightroom 1.4,<\/span> you'll need to pull a new<\/span>\nversion of the plugin from the appropriate page:<\/p>\n\n
