This is the bird's-eye view of the scene shown in the Extremely Blue Light\nDisplay<\/a> post from two weeks ago. The light<\/span> display is on a hillside<\/span> in\nRoppongi Hills (an area of Tokyo, Japan); the photo was taken from a\npedestrian<\/span> walkway that goes over a road<\/span> fronting the display.<\/p>\n\n

The two side sections were static, while the display in the center\nsection flashed and undulated from time to time.<\/p>\n\n

Fumie and I were in Tokyo two weeks ago for another concert by Kousuke\nAtari, having won in a drawing<\/span> one of the 150 pairs of tickets for the\nsmall, free event. It was our<\/span> fourth “Atari Trip”, having previously made\nsmall trips to see him in Miyajima<\/a> and Tokyo in\nOctober, and Kagawa<\/a> in\nDecember.<\/p>\n\n

At the event, besides singing, he recorded two installments of his weekly radio broadcast<\/a>. The first<\/span> was released today.\nSadly, the link works only on Windows, but the a cappella<\/span><\/i> that\nstarts at the 9:38 point of this\nrecording<\/a> is a nice<\/span> example of his voice.<\/p>\n\n

Anyway, here are a few<\/span> more pictures from a\nshort<\/span> stroll after the concert. I took this<\/span> next shot while standing in\nfront of the Sony Music building (where the event was held) while waiting\nfor Fumie as she chatted with another fan.<\/p>\n\n

The picture above shows a lower window of a large<\/span> building that faces\nthe park (you can see the lit-up trees reflected), and at first glance I\nthought<\/span> it was a dentist's<\/span> office. That didn't sit right, though, since a\ndentist<\/span> wouldn't be open that late, and anyway, who wants to have their root\ncanal while sitting in a display<\/span> case?<\/p>\n\n

It turns out that it's a high-end “dog boutique” that –\nexcept for the pampered pooches – is indistinguishable from an\nupscale Starbucks.<\/p>\n\n
