As I mentioned\nyesterday<\/a>, Kyoto city proper doesn't normally get much snow, but today\nwe had occasion to be in the mountains a bit<\/span> and Anthony got a few<\/span> moments\nto play in some snow that hadn't melted yet.<\/p>\n\n

That's not<\/i> what these pictures are from. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n

I thought to use the occasion to post some pictures from last Spring\n– April 30th – when we found more than a bit<\/span> of snow on top of\na mountain<\/span> in Kitafurano (Hokkaido, in northern Japan), where the snow\ndoesn't melt away until July.<\/p>\n\n

The “bad example” referenced in the caption above was from an outing the\nprevious month (March 2007) when Fumie got plastered in the face<\/a> by a\nsnowball.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

This “throwing snowballs at Daddy while he takes pictures” idea seems to\nhave been a common<\/span> theme of our trip to Hokkaido, because I notice<\/span> now that\nthe first picture of my Snow in May<\/a> post leads\nwith a similar<\/span> shot we took the day after these.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although it was overcast during much of our trip to Hokkaido last\nspring, we were able to visit many beautiful places, as the pretty scenes\nthat fill my Furano & Biei\npost category<\/a> attest to.<\/p>\n\n
