We took a nice drive this afternoon on the Hiei Parkway in the mountains\nto the north-east of Kyoto, to see the foliage. We hoped<\/span> that up in the\nmountains it would have progressed a bit<\/span> more than it has so far in the\ncity, but it turns out to still be pretty much at the beginning.<\/p>\n\n

At one point we paused at a moss-covered clearing that was somewhat\nlittered with chestnuts. At least<\/span> I thought<\/span> it was moss at the time, but\nlooking at the picture makes me think that they were super tiny little\nferns. Maybe that's what moss is?<\/p>\n\n

There was also<\/a> a set<\/span> of steps and a path,<\/span> leading to Lord knows where.....<\/p>\n\n
