I really love my new place, but there's one thing I'll miss: my old\ntoilet.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nBoth the old and new places have an INAX\nbrand<\/a> “Shower Toilet” (yes, that's the name). But the two<\/span>\nare quite different; apparently, INAX names all their toilets\n“shower” toilets.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nThe old\nplace<\/a> apparently had a “K\nSeries<\/a>” model, while the new place has an “Satis\nS5<\/a>” series model.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nAnyway, they are the same in that they have all the standard controls:\nbidet, “wash”, blow dry, water temperature control, water\npressure control, air temperature control, and seat temperature control. The new one<\/span> has the controls on a wall<\/span>-mounted remote control, but\notherwise they appear quite comparable. For whatever<\/span> reason, at US$1,400,\nthe new on costs about 2x the old one.\n\n<\/p>\n\n

\n\nThe most basic function of one of these “enhanced” toilets is\nits “wash” feature. Press a button<\/span> and a well<\/span>-aimed jet of warm\nwater, er, washes you. The water<\/span> pressure can be adjusted from a trickle<\/span> to\nfairly strong jet.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nWhat I'll really miss, though, is that the water pressure on the old one\ncould be turned up to sand-blasting proportions. We're talking Old\nFaithful, Niagara Falls, and fire hoses. Get the aim<\/span> just right<\/i>, and\nwe're talking clean outside and<\/i> in. As the maker<\/span> says on their English site<\/a>, “Clean\nnever felt so good.” I liked<\/span> it.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nThe new one has no such power. Sigh. I'll miss my old toilet.\n\n<\/p>
