Daimonji, taken very near where the &#8220;Pausing to be Silly&#8221; shot from <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2007-07-01\/507\">this post<\/a> was taken.<\/p>\n\n<p>The image below is from the garden at the most-excellent Enkouji Temple\n(north-east Kyoto). along Kawabata St., Kyoto Japan<\/b>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>Kawabata St, which runs parallel to the big river in eastern Kyoto, is\none of the most pretty main thoroughfares of the city. <span class='nobr'>It helps<\/span> that\nthere's <span class='nobr'>a river<\/span> and park all along one side (as opposed to big ugly office\nbuildings, parking lots, and convenience stores), and also because it's\nplanted with so many kinds of, er, plants.<\/p>\n\n<p>The whole length is an explosion of color in the fall (the yellow shown\nabove only one of the many fall colors), and has an even more beautiful and\nvaried outburst in the spring (such as shown in the first pic on this <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2007-04-06\/415\">colors of spring\npost<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n<p>The yellow trees above (seen closer in the first pic on <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2006-12-22\/313\">this post<\/a>) are <a\nhref=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ginkgo\">ginkgo trees<\/a> (in Japanese:\n\u30a4\u30c1\u30e7\u30a6), which are beautiful, but when, unfortunately, once its smelly\nseeds start to fall, it makes the whole area smell like dog poop.<\/p>\n\n<p style='margin-top:40px' >With that pleasant thought in mind, finally,\nhere's another one from the same area as the lead photo on this\npost....<\/p>\n\n<div class='ic'><a name='023248' href=\"\/i\/JEF_023248.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/i\/JEF_023248_sm.jpg\" width=\"690\" height=\"462\"\nalt=\"Nikon D200 + Nikkor 70 -200mm f\/2.8 @ 130mm &amp;mdash;
