I posted yesterday about an amazing evening rainbow<\/a> I saw<\/span> at\ndusk but neglected to get a picture<\/span> of. It turns<\/span> out that there was a\nsimilar<\/span> rainbow 10 minutes earlier, 10km away, that a friend<\/span> was able to\nget a picture<\/span> of while driving.<\/p>\n\n

Having taken the main rainbow photo while driving, it's not the best\nexample of photography ever made, but at least he got<\/i> a shot,<\/span> which\nis infinitely more than I was<\/span> able to do.<\/p>\n\n

For a while now, I've been\nmeaning to recommend Zak\nBraverman's blog<\/a> as one with good photography and well-written posts. He's an American<\/span> who went to college in Kyoto and has lived in Japan on and\noff for 17 years, currently residing over the hill from me in Otsu with his\nwife, 3-yr-old son, and 3-month-old daughter.<\/p>\n\n

He's not a geek like I am (he's a non<\/span>-geeky Japanese-to-English\ntranslator), but he does like his cameras and we enjoy being geeky about\ncamera things. He has a<\/span> Fuji S5\nPro<\/a> (essentially like my Nikon D200 with a different<\/span> sensor), and tends\nto like street photography.<\/p>\n\n\n

So, Zak's is among the blogs I read<\/span><\/a>. I\nuse<\/span> Bloglines<\/a> so that\nI don't<\/span> have to manually check each one each day, but can simply look to\nsee what's new. Highly recommended.<\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
