Parts of Ohio have been having heavy rain and flooding lately, although\nwhere we are it's been sunny and hot for the last few days. We did get<\/span>\npounded<\/i> with very heavy rains over the weekend and Monday.\nYesterday, I happened<\/span> to notice the effects from those rains in the play\nsandpile.<\/p>\n\n

When we first arrived a month ago, Dad dumped<\/span> a few<\/span> bags of play sand\nfor Anthony to play<\/a>,\nbut the heavy rains totally flattened the pile....<\/p>\n\n

Each of the bazillion rain drops splashed up a bit<\/span> of sand when it hit,\nand sometimes that sand got stuck to where it splashed. Notice the\nsand-speckled underside of the blue thing in the upper-left of the picture\nabove: the sand splashed a good<\/span> foot (30cm) up. I was impressed<\/span>.<\/p>\n\n

Also notice the tubs filled up about four inches, a good<\/span> indication of\nthe amount of rainfall we had.<\/p>\n\n\n

I like the low-angle shot above, particularly since I didn't<\/span> have to get\ndown into the sand to get it because I used<\/span> a Zigview<\/span> S2 remote viewer. It's a nice<\/span> little viewfinder camera\/display that I'll write about later,\nbut the short summary is that while it can be helpful, it's not nearly as\nnice as the\nproduct-information page<\/a>, whose images are fantastically\nmisleading<\/i>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
