As I mentioned the other day<\/a>, my sister Marci is visiting my\nfolks' with her 17-month-old son, Josh, for the last week that Anthony and\nI are<\/span> here, and for another week after to help ease my parents' empty-nest\nfeeling.<\/p>\n\n

Yesterday we made the half-hour drive to a particularly<\/span> bleak part of\nthe world called the Alliance Amtrak Station. The station<\/span> itself was like\na run<\/span>-down bus stop in the most desolate area of town, but it had one great\nthing going for it: trains<\/b>.<\/p>\n\n

The “station” (if you could call it that — it's just a slab<\/span> of\nasphalt with a little<\/span> sun-shade waiting area) is at the junction of two\ntrain lines that are well trafficked by freight trains. So, we went to see\nsome trains.<\/p>\n\n

At one point, to the horror of my Mom (or any\nsane adult), I let four<\/span>-year-old Anthony use my D200 with a big<\/span> Nikkor 70<\/span>-200mm\nf\/2.8<\/a> on a monopod<\/a>, and he took a few<\/span> nice shots...<\/p>\n\n

I've got to say that I'm very proud with how Anthony is playing the “big\ncousin” role. He tries<\/span> to be helpful and patient, and succeeds more than I\nwould<\/span> have expected.<\/p>\n\n
