While Anthony was at school yesterday, the rest of us\nwent out to <span class='nobr'>a restaurant<\/span> for lunch. Without Anthony to keep my hands full, <span class='nobr'>I tried<\/span> to help <span class='nobr'>a bit<\/span> with Josh, who was being somewhat of <span class='nobr'>a handful.<\/span> <span class='nobr'>In the middle<\/span> of both of us trying to give him some chicken noodle soup, <span class='nobr'>I had a<\/span> realization that <span class='nobr'>I could<\/span> put to good use.<\/p>\n\n<p><b>Me:<\/b> <i>Hey Marci, <span class='nobr'>I just thought<\/span> of something that will really gross you out!<\/i><\/p>\n\n<p>Marci gets this look on her face that says \"<span class='nobr'>I grew<\/span> up with four\nbrothers. I've been an emergency-room nurse for 20 years. You can't\npossibly gross me out\" and says...<\/p>\n\n<p><b>Marci:<\/b> <i>Uh, <span class='nobr'>I don't<\/span> think so, but give it <span class='nobr'>a try.<\/span>..<\/i><\/p>\n\n<p>I gestured to the seating arrangements, with the two of us on either\nside of Josh, both attending to Josh, and the next generation (our folks)\non the other side of the table... <\/p>\n\n<p><b>Me:<\/b> <i>Everyone looking at us will think that this is <b>our<\/b> child.<\/i><\/p>\n\n<p>Marci's face morphs into a mask of horror and disgust. <span class='nobr'>I'd won a<\/span> great victory. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/blog\/wp-includes\/images\/smilies\/icon_smile.gif\" width=\"15\" height=\"15\"\nclass=\"raw\"\nid=\"ismile\"\/><\/p>\n\n<!-- href='\/blog\/2006-08-20\/232' -->\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My sister Marci drove up with her 17-month-old (Josh) to join us for our last week in Ohio.
