Adding to yesterday's post about our trip to the fire pits on Mt. Daimonji<\/a>,\nhere are a few<\/span> more of Anthony and Kana-chan<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

As I mentioned yesterday, the view felt much closer than from the summit<\/a>. Oddly,\nbeing lower\/closer made the feeling of height more impressive.<\/p>\n\n

Some were inspired to flight...<\/p>\n\n

The lower-right “leg” of the “\u5927” (as seen when facing the mountain) is\nvery, very long — about 140m of very narrow, tiny, steep steps\n— so the view from near its top, just below the center of the\ncharacter, is impressive.<\/p>\n\n\n

Once back in the outer-edges of the city, we happened upon a man<\/span> who had\napparently just collapsed in the street. One passerby<\/span> had just arrived to\nhis area, but didn't really know what to do. I like to<\/span> be a helpful<\/span> person,\nso for a moment<\/span> wondered what on earth I could<\/span> do to help, until I\nremembered<\/span> that Kana-chan's daddy is a medical<\/span> doctor. Sweet.<\/p>\n\n

I did my best to keep the kids out of the way and let him do his thing. A lady who<\/span> lived in the area came out with blankets, and umbrellas for the\nrain that had started, and someone called an ambulance.<\/p>\n\n

It seems that the gentleman had gotten dizzy or fainted for some reason,\nand other than bumping his head on the way down, was fine.<\/p>\n\n

Finally on our way — in the increasing rain — we decided to\nbypass the last half hour of walking through the city and hopped in a cab,<\/span>\nand our Mt. Daimonji\nhike<\/a> was done for 2006.<\/p>\n\n\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
