It's hot and humid in Kyoto now, so I'd like to try to cool off by\nreturning to the quintessential pleasantness of Kyoto's spring.\n\n\n<\/p>

\n\nThe image above was made by applying the same Photoshop “Darken” blend-mode\ntechnique<\/a> that I used<\/span> to create the Color of Kyoto<\/a> foliage\ndesktop background last fall, but this time to a pair<\/span> of pictures I took<\/span>\nduring a cherry<\/span>-blossom\nouting<\/a> in April.<\/p>\n\n

Unlike the previous time where I used<\/span> three pictures, I used only<\/span> two\nthis time. Also, instead of near\/fall focus points, this time I varied<\/span> the\ndepth of field. Overall, it still creates a mostly<\/span> muted, pastel-like\nresult. Here's a portion<\/span> at 50% resolution:<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n

Here are the two images used in creating the first one above. The water<\/span> is the Kyoto Biwako Canal, as seen from about the same place from which I\nmade<\/span> the first shot in this post about night long-exposure cherry\nblossoms<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
