width:90px; height:55px; border:solid 2px yellow; top:65px; left:230px; visibility:hidden'><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>The <span style='border-bottom: dotted 1px gray'\n      onmouseover='document.getElementById(\"m500\").style.visibility=\"visible\"'\n      onmouseout='document.getElementById(\"m500\").style.visibility=\"hidden\"'>orange gate in the photo above<\/span> is part of the\n<a href=\"\/blog\/2007-06-06\/482\">little shrine<\/a> <span class='nobr'>I wrote<\/span> about earlier in the month.<\/p>\n\n<p>All in all, it's really not possible to say enough how pleasant it was.<\/p>\n\n<p>The main lunch was served at our table on one of the upper platforms,\nbut there was additional food and additional platforms on which to eat it.\nJust past the third platform is the larger waterfall <span class='nobr'>I mentioned<\/span> above,\nafter which there are two more platforms specifically for eating noodles. <span class='nobr'>The shot below<\/span> was taken from the stairs that head down to the lower\n&#8220;noodle platforms,&#8221; width:65px; height:35px; border:solid 3px red; top:205px; left:365px; visibility:hidden'><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<p>The <span style='border-bottom: dotted 1px gray'\n      onmouseover='document.getElementById(\"n500\").style.visibility=\"visible\"'\n      onmouseout='document.getElementById(\"n500\").style.visibility=\"hidden\"'>table we sat at<\/span> and had just left is in the center of the picture.\n\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nThe whole noodle thing was an event that gets <a href=\"\/blog\/2007-06-27\/501\">its own post<\/a>.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nIt was a really fun and pleasant lunch, but <span class='nobr'>I didn't<\/span> blog about it until\nnow because <span class='nobr'>I wanted<\/span> to take Fumie there and have it be <span class='nobr'>a surprise.<\/span> I've\nsince been there twice (once with Fumie, and once with <a\nhref=\"\/blog\/2007-06-21\/496\">Lawrence<\/a>), so can finally\npost about it.\n\n<\/p><p>\n\nMuch of the river in the mile-long Kibune area are used for dining like\nthis during the summer, so there are many places left for us to check out.\nHirobun is the upper-most inn\/restaurant of the bunch, so is the most\nupstream, and so perhaps the only one with an unspoiled upstream view. <span class='nobr'>It's very nice<\/span>.\n\n<\/p>\n\n<p style='margin-top:30px;
