Unlike yesterday when I photographed the voluptuous cherry blossoms of\nmy previous post<\/a>, today\nwas misty\/spritzy all day. One nice thing<\/span> about such days is that the bed\nof stones filling some of the alcoves in my building glisten sumptuously,\nand I enjoy<\/span> them for brief moments as I walk<\/span> by.<\/p>\n\n

On one such day, I paused<\/span> to take a picture<\/span> of them, and I thought<\/span> some\nmight enjoy such an image as a desktop<\/span> background, and hence this post.\nLinks below the image above lead to sizes appropriate for common desktops,\nboth standard and widescreen.<\/p>\n\n

Personally, I like a<\/span> background with less\ncontrast (despite the fact that at the moment, I'm using this colorful image<\/a> on my\nown desktop), so I futzed<\/span> around with some Photoshop filters<\/a> and came\nup with something even more subdued and calming. It has its<\/span> own\ndesktop-size links as well:<\/p>\n\n

One problem with creating the various sizes above is that in resizing\nthe image, some of the filter effects are reduced or lost, so here's a set<\/span>\nat full resolution, with the various sizes being full-resolution crops.\nThus, the filter effects remain unperturbed....<\/p>\n\n\n
