I mentioned two weeks ago<\/a> that I'd post some cherry-blossom\npictures from last year, as we await this year's season, and so today I\nbegin.<\/span> To help get<\/span> me in the mood, I'll start with a picture<\/span> from my\nbalcony of the trees across the river, and then two from ground level.\nThese were taken on April 7th last year.<\/p>\n\n

I'm not very confident of their color balance<\/a> — they\nseem to have a redish<\/span> tint to me — but the sun was heading down, so\nperhaps it's deserved.<\/p>\n\n

I like these because they show the fluffy, cloud-like nature of some\nkinds of cherry trees at full bloom, but they're not really very good.\nThey're not pictures to hang on the wall or even on your desktop, so I'll\ninclude another photo I took<\/span> the same day, at Daigo Temple<\/a>. It's as typical<\/span> of a cherry<\/span>-blossom picture as you can get, but pretty\nnevertheless. Below the picture you'll find six different versions suitable\nfor use as a desktop<\/span> background, should you feel so inclined.<\/p>\n\n
