Yesterday we went to some very old, semi-famous mochi<\/a> shops in north-west\nKyoto, near the Imamiya Shrine. We took the<\/span> opportunity to walk around the\nshrine a bit,<\/span> and in doing so, found a plum<\/span> (I think<\/span>) tree just starting to\nblossom. This was especially surprising because this part of the city is\nknown to be generally colder than the main areas, by a non<\/span>-trivial amount,\nso I would<\/span> have expected it to be later than our area.<\/p>\n\n

In any case, my first blossom-related post is quite a bit<\/span> earlier this\nyear than last year (April\n8th)<\/a> or the year before\n(April 7th)<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n
