In Japanese, it's called\n<i>ise ebi<\/i> <span class='nobr'>(\u4f0a\u52e2\u6d77\u8001),<\/span> which translates to &#8220;Ise shrimp&#8221;\n(where &#8220;<a\nhref=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Ise%2C_Mie\">Ise<\/a>&#8221; is the name\nof the area we were in). <span class='nobr'>It's one of<\/span> the local favorites, and you can even\nsee in the pictures at the top of this post that the painting on the back\nwall is of these critters.<\/p>\n\n<p>It tasted just like shrimp, and not at all like lobster. <span class='nobr'>It may be<\/span>,\nthough, that it would have tasted like lobster if it had been cooked; <span class='nobr'>I\ndon't<\/span> know.<\/p>\n\n<p>There was seafood galore. <span class='nobr'>On the oval<\/span> skillet in front of the lobster\nthing were fried muscle of some sort. Behind it is <span class='nobr'>a bowl<\/span> filled with ice\nand topped with <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sashimi\">sashimi<\/a>\n(slices of raw fish).
