This perhaps looks like a painting or a photo<\/span> with a painting<\/span> effect\napplied, but it's actually a combination<\/span> of three photos I took<\/span> yesterday,\nwith no other special effects added. I'll describe how I made<\/span> it in a later post<\/a>; it's my hope\nfor now that you'll simply be able to enjoy it.<\/p>\n\n

The part shown above is just a small portion of the whole image, so that\nI could<\/span> show some detail lost during the reduction required to fit a\npicture<\/span> onto my blog. Even at that, it's from a version<\/span> that was reduced to\n25% of the original.\n\n<\/p>

\n\nA reduced-size version of the whole thing is shown below, but you need to\nsee a much<\/span> larger version to really appreciate it: links to\ndesktop-background sized versions are just below the image.<\/p>\n\n

The desktop backgrounds are in various sizes, in both standard and\nwidescreen versions. Select one that's the same size, or larger, than your\ndesktop size.<\/p>\n\n

I've got this as my background now, and frankly, in its full-size glory\nI think<\/span> it's the best I've ever made (which might not be saying much, but\nhey, “it's my party and I'll feel pride if I want<\/span> to....”).\n\n<\/p>

This replaces a different fall-foliage desktop<\/a> I was<\/span>\nusing for the last week, which itself replaced a cherry-blossom desktop<\/a> I\nmade<\/span> two months ago.\n\n<\/p>
