This composition, by Montreal photographer Jos\u00e9e Houle<\/a>, combines my\nphoto of a wall<\/span> at Kyoto's Myouhouin Temple (\u5999\u6cd5\u9662)<\/span>, which I published<\/span> on a post<\/span> in 2012<\/a>, with photos of a model<\/span> being splashed\nwith colored milk.<\/p>\n\n

Jos\u00e9e described the process to me:<\/p>\n\n

First, the model took the pose with all the pieces of the outfit that wasn\u2019t liquid, to create the basis of the final photo.\n Once the perfect shot was taken, every accessory was taken off and then, the process of splashing milk on the model could\n start.<\/p>\n\n

While the model taking and keeping the same pose as in the final photo, two assistants started splashing and pouring yellow\n coloured milk on each one part of her body at the time, repeating this process again and again, until many usable shots of the\n milk splashing were taken.<\/p>\n\n

After, on the computer, a selection of the best shots of milk was done and then combined, one layer over the other, on the\n final photography, to create the entire kimono on the model.<\/p>\n\n

A background was added to create a context<\/span> and the whole picture was blended together to give the most realistic yet fantastic\n result possible.<\/p>\n\n<\/div>\n\n

It sounds really messy, but fun, and the result is certainly interesting and fun.<\/p>\n\n
