{"id":2865,"date":"2018-06-07T21:57:30","date_gmt":"2018-06-07T12:57:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/regex.info\/blog\/2018-06-07\/2865"},"modified":"2018-06-07T21:57:30","modified_gmt":"2018-06-07T12:57:30","slug":"announcing-my-upload-to-google-photos-plugin-for-lightroom-prepare-to-be-disappointed","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/regex.info\/blog\/2018-06-07\/2865","title":{"rendered":"Announcing my Upload-to-Google-Photos Plugin for Lightroom: Prepare to be Disappointed"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"\/i\/lr\/LR_googlephotos.png\" width=\"373\" height=\"90\"\nclass=\"raw\"\nid=\"igooglephotos\"\/>\n\n<p><i>Six years<\/i> after Google unveiled their <span class='QO'>&#8220;<\/span>Google +<span class='QC'>&#8221;<\/span> social network with photo hosting, with heavy emphasis on\nphotographers, and <span class='nobr'>a couple<\/span> of years after Google shut down Picasa Web Albums, the sort-of-backdoor way\nto upload photos to Google, Google has <i>finally<\/i> released <span class='nobr'>a photo<\/span>-upload API, so that <span class='nobr'>I can<\/span> make\n<a href='\/blog\/lightroom-goodies\/google-photos'> <span class='nobr'>a  Google<\/span> Photos plugin\nfor Adobe Lightroom<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Sort of.<\/p>\n\n<p>What Google allows at this point is <i>extremely<\/i> limited, and <span class='nobr'>I don't<\/span> hold much hope that it'll expand.<\/p>\n\n<p>As of today's initial release, the plugin can:<\/p>\n\n<ol><li>create an album in Google Photos<\/li>\n<li>upload photos and video to such albums.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<p>That's it. Nothing more.
