Today's post is the final installment of the story started in\n“<\/span>Taran and Kate at the Heian Shrine<\/a>”<\/span>.\nThe previous installment<\/a> ended with our having to wait\nfor a massive<\/span> crowd to clear. After all three of them \ud83d\ude42 left, we had the place to ourselves.<\/p>\n\n\n

It was only as I<\/i> was walking around to join them that the first heron decided to fly away...<\/p>\n\n

Birds in flight are almost as difficult to photograph as children (a bird's<\/span> movement is marginally less erratic). I'm\nfocus-challenged in the best of times, but in this case it was compounded by the fact that I had<\/span> the\nmanual-focus-only Voigtl\u00e4nder 125mm\/f2.5<\/a> mounted. Given all that, the result\nisn't too bad.<\/p>\n\n

I'd seen this bench with its “<\/span>Beware of Hairy Caterpillars”<\/span> sign on the way to meet them, so when I saw<\/span> that Taran had a thick<\/span>\nfuzzy beard, I thought<\/span> we could have some fun with it, along the lines of the two-shot sequence seen here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

I love their smiles in the shot above... I just wish<\/span> I'd focused better. \ud83d\ude41<\/p>\n\n

After that, I bid them adieu with one last snap...<\/p>\n\n
