style='margin-top:50px'>In my first blog post about cycling to Osaka from Kyoto, <a href='\/blog\/2015-06-26\/2592'>one can see<\/a>\nphotos of the lovely bicycle route that spans much of the 40~50 kilometers (~30 miles). <span class='nobr'>My other<\/span> posts that include the trip <a\nhref='\/blog\/2015-11-29\/2650'>also<\/a> <a href='\/blog\/2015-09-15\/2618'>show<\/a> scenes of the\nlovely, flat, smooth, bicycle path.<\/p>\n\n<p>What I haven't shown much, besides the photo above that <a href='\/blog\/2016-05-14\/2694#i08585'>appeared last\nweek<\/a>, is <span class='nobr'>a horrible<\/span> ~4km (~2.5mi) section of the path that exits eastern Kyoto. <span class='nobr'>It's full of<\/span> teeth-rattling bone-jarring\nbumps, in addition to sections of mud, water, sand, and gravel. <span class='nobr'>I deeply<\/span> dislike riding it.<\/p>\n\n<p>So, I sought to find a replacement <span class='QO'>&#8220;<\/span>standard route<span class='QC'>&#8221;<\/span> that avoided what made that route so nasty, without introducing anything\nworse, and <span class='nobr'>I think<\/span> I've found one.<\/p>\n\n<p>I'll go full-on geektard for this post to help me get back into blogging after the recent break, but for those interested in\njust the route, here it is in the form of <span class='nobr'>a downloadable<\/span> GPX file:<\/p>\n\n<ul><li><a My other posts that include the trip also show scenes of the lovely, flat, smooth, bicycle path.<\/p> <p>What I haven't shown much, besides the photo above that appeared last week, is a horrible ~4km (~2.5mi) section of the path that exits eastern Kyoto.
