I guess this is a continuation of a post<\/span> three months ago looking back\nto last November's trip to\nthe Shugakuin Imperial Villa<\/a> in Kyoto. We're still two months away from\nfall foliage season in Kyoto, but it's just around the corner for much of\nthe Northern Hemisphere, so I guess<\/span> this is a\ngetting<\/span>-in-the-mood-for-Autumn kind of post.<\/p>\n\n

We'd left of on that previous post having headed up a hill<\/span> to a nice<\/span> view<\/a>. The same view<\/span> with an 85mm at f\/1.6 sort of has a slightly<\/span>-unreal look, as if it's a close<\/span> up of a model.<\/span>..<\/p>\n\n

As described in my first post about this location<\/a>, the tour moves at a brisk<\/span> pace and\nthey don't like folks to stray ahead or behind. So it's difficult to get most shots without luck and planning. Here's one such shot:<\/p>\n\n

The only way to get that shot is to be the first one down the hill after they tell you to get moving, or the last one. I was the<\/span> first...\nfolks came streaming down moments later...<\/p>\n\n\n

I'd made the trip with Damien, Paul, and Kentaro Kataoka (my masseur friend<\/a>, most recently\nmentioned on my blog here<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n

(Coincidentally, I had dinner with Ken-chan and Damien last night at\nVia Transito<\/a>, an Italian restaurant run\nby a friend.<\/span> Was Tasty. When Paul comes in again November, the four of us will have to do it again\nand document the meal with photos \ud83d\ude42 .<\/p>\n\n

Anyway, the lake doesn't look so great in the shot above, so here's a shot<\/span> of the same covered bridge, but from\nthe other direction, and with perhaps better lighting...<\/p>\n\n
