My week of trying to return home to Kyoto, most recently covered in “<\/span>To No One\u2019s\nSurprise, United Blames My Non-Weather Cancellations on Weather<\/a>”<\/span>, is\nfinally going well. I took a<\/span> smooth, on-time flight on United from\nCleveland to San Francisco last night, and overnighted at The Dylan at SFO<\/a>...<\/p>\n\n

I can highly recommend The Dylan with one caveat. It's close<\/span> to the\nairport, clean, nicely appointed for its ~$100 price, across the street\nfrom a huge<\/span> grocery store (Lucky) and multiple large general\/drug stores\n(CVS and Walgreens), with lots of dining within walking distance. The included<\/span> breakfast is also pretty nice by free-breakfast standards. The staff<\/span> was also friendly, and even loaned me an iPhone charging cable when I\nrealized<\/span> that I'd left all that stuff at my folks' house.<\/p>\n\n

The one caveat is that road\/plane noise is pretty apparent, though it\ndidn't bother me because I leave<\/span> a “<\/span>white noise”<\/span> mp3 on loop all night when\nI stay<\/span> at a hotel.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

SFO Free Wifi Hint<\/b> — if you try to use the “<\/span>#SFO Free Wifi”<\/span>\nhotspot at the airport, if your device doesn't automatically send you to\nhttp:\/\/flysfo.com\/<\/tt> so that you can click the “<\/span>agree”<\/span> button to get\naccess, you have to go there manually. My iPad and<\/span> iPhone did it\nautomatically, but I had<\/span> to do it by hand with my laptop.<\/p>\n\n
