We had a fun trip today to a small food\/entertainment area<\/a> in the mountains of northern\nTakatsuki City (\u9ad8\u69fb\u5e02),<\/span> an hour or so west of Kyoto. The main objective<\/span> that\nI'll post about another time (Update: here<\/a>) was the picking of (and grilling\nof and eating) shiitake mushrooms<\/a> (\u690e\u8338),<\/span> but we also had fun at a play<\/span> area\nthat included a slide<\/span> of rollers for 80m (260') down a hill.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

I waited to catch Anthony at the bottom for his first run because the\nslide shoots you at high speed off its end, into what was today a wet<\/span> mess\nof dirty dirt and painful gravel.<\/p>\n\n

For his second run he said he could handle slowing himself down, so I watched<\/span> him pass with the camera...<\/p>\n\n\n

The rain picked up noticeably at this point, so we headed home.<\/p>\n\n

This call to mind some other mountain\/roller\/slide things we've done in\nthe past, most notably the Slippery Green Slidy Day of\nFun at Bluma no Oka<\/a> five years ago, and a big<\/span> roller slide in\nOtsu<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n
