Since <span class='nobr'>I\nhad<\/span> my tripod with me, <span class='nobr'>I did some<\/span> tests on the effect of shutter speed on\nthe feeling of water flow.<\/p>\n\n<p>Swabbing the mouse from side to side over the image above (and all the\nimages below) causes different frames of each test set to come up, with the\nshutter speed in seconds showing in the lower right.<\/p>\n\n<p>I would have liked to have all tests done with every major shutter-speed\nincrement between 30 seconds and 1\/500th of <span class='nobr'>a second,<\/span> but <span class='nobr'>I guess<\/span> <span class='nobr'>I was<\/span>\njust too miserable in the downpour to think that far ahead, and so the\ncollection is rather haphazard. I'll have to go back on <span class='nobr'>a nicer<\/span> day with\nstronger focus.<\/p>\n\n<p>Still, I made the tests, and they're at least partially useful, so here we are.<\/p>\n\n<style type=\"text\/css\">div#dGjxqBTLbTLbwdA img {  width:690px;
