It was, without question, the most amazing place\nto see blossoms (cherry and others) that I'd ever been, by orders of\nmagnitude. &#8220;<i>Stunning<\/i>&#8221;, &#8220;<i>Awesome<\/i>&#8221;, and other overused platitudes don't do it justice, at least when at the peak of\nseason when <span class='nobr'>I visited.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>It's been a while since I've done a <a\nhref='\/blog\/2012-11-17\/2142'>wigglegram<\/a>, so even\nthough I've not yet gone over the photos from the visit, <span class='nobr'>I went ahead<\/span> and\ngrabbed out enough for <span class='nobr'>a wigglegram.<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>On the left is <a href='\/blog\/2012-11-30\/2157'>Damien Douxchamps<\/a>, who also appeared in the last\nwigglegram <span class='nobr'>I posted<\/span> (in &#8220;<a class='pt' href='\/blog\/2012-11-30\/2156'><span class='nobr'>A Wigglegram<\/span> from the Well-Named \u201cFallen Leaf Shrine\u201d in Northern Kyoto<\/a>&#8221;). <span class='nobr'>At right<\/span> is the venerable <a href='\/blog\/2012-12-11\/2167'>Paul Barr<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>It's not for lack of desire that <span class='nobr'>I haven't<\/span> been posting more\nwigglegrams... <span class='nobr'>I take the<\/span> base photos used to make them fairly often, but\nbecause <span class='nobr'>I still<\/span> can't do it smoothly, it takes <span class='nobr'>a lot<\/span> of work in Lightroom\nor Photoshop to smooth out frame-by-frame jumpiness. <span class='nobr'>I probably<\/span> spent an\nhour aligning the 17 photos used in this wigglegram. <span class='nobr'>If anyone<\/span> knows of\nautomatic alignment software, <span class='nobr'>I'd love to<\/span> hear about it... it seems to be\nthe kind of thing that software could automate.<\/p>\n\n<p>There are more wigglegrams on <a href='\/blog\/category\/pretty-photos\/wigglegrams'>my wigglegram blog category<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p><i><a href='\/blog\/2013-04-15\/2243'>Continued here...<\/a><\/i><\/p>\n\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I made my first visit the other day to the Haradanien Garden (\u539f\u8c37\u82d1) in northwest of Kyoto, a few kilometers into the mountains beyond Kinkakuji (\"the Golden Pavilion\").
