It's still quite early for plum blossoms, but having apparently been\nquite confused, I went to<\/span> the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine (\u5317\u91ce\u5929\u6e80\u5bae)<\/span> today\nexpecting them to be in their prime. Most trees were still bare, but there\nwere still ample blossoms to be found here and there.<\/p>\n\n

I seem to have bad luck with this temple... my first visit five years ago resulted in a\nblog<\/span> post titled “Late to the Party: Plum Blossoms at the Kitano Tenmangu Shrine<\/a>”,\nwhere I talk<\/span> about how past their prime they were.<\/p>\n\n

Then the next year I stopped by in January expecting to find nothing, but found a few<\/span> blossoms:\n“Kyoto Plum-Blossom Status Report: Kitano Tenmangu Shrine<\/a>”.<\/p>\n\n
