My laptop, where I do all my photo work for the last couple of years, is\nin the shop, so I'm having to dip back into the old Lightroom catalog on my\nold desktop machine, where I have<\/span> photos from the\n90s through the end of 2010. I hadn't<\/span> looked at\nthem in ages, and wow, the quality of my pics from back then is pretty bad,\nso there's slim pickings for blog posts until I get<\/span> my laptop back.<\/p>\n\n

But these two pics aren't so bad, relatively speaking. They're\n“October Cherry” blossoms from an early-autumn (Nov 9th) trip\nto the Kongourinji Temple (\u91d1\u525b\u8f2a\u5bfa)<\/span> in Shiga\nJapan, back when the fall colors were just ramping up for the 2010 season.\nIt's a trip<\/span> that produced many blog posts,\nstarting with “First Taste of Fall Colors at Shiga\u2019s Amazing Kongourinji\nTemple<\/a>”. It's a temple<\/span> famous for its\ndeep sorrow (as presented here<\/a>), but cherry\nblossoms amid fall colors are decidedly upbeat.<\/p>\n\n

These aren't strong shots, but they'll make nice desktop backgrouns, and with snow forecast for Kyoto tonight, they'll put me in a spring<\/span> mood.<\/p>\n\n
