I've posted only the tiniest fraction of recent photos that I want<\/span> to\npost, and today I'm making a slight<\/span> dent in the backlog by revisiting the\nphotogenic day last December that yielded “Intense Rainbow Over\nArashiyama<\/a>” and its longer followup<\/a>, and also\n“Pretty and\nColorful Public Path in Arashiyama<\/a>”, a post<\/span> that highlighted the first and last\nshots of that day's outing.<\/p>\n\n

The rainbow\/mountain scene above was taken a few<\/span> minutes after the\naforementioned first shot of the\nouting<\/a>. I prefer<\/span> the ultra-widescreen view that the “first shot” has,\nbut wanted to have something for my desktop background, so cropped the one\nabove more aggressively to achieve the proper aspect ratio.<\/p>\n\n

The photo was taken from a bridge looking north. The view to<\/span> the south also had interest...<\/p>\n\n

The wider aspect ratio of this one causes it to look smaller in my\nblog's presentation, but clicking through yields a larger<\/span> version you\nshould be able to scroll side to side.<\/p>\n\n

I was on a temple-hopping outing with Damien Douxchamps<\/a>, and our first stop was\nSuzumushidera (\u9234\u866b\u5bfa)....<\/span><\/p>\n\n

There was a long line for the temple so we decided to skip it, but the scene at the top of the stairs had many photogenic opportunities,\nincluding this fallen leaf stuck in the bare branches of a shrub.<\/span> I normally<\/span> tend to prefer richer, higher-contrast shots, but something\nabout this mostly-washed-out scene appeals to me.<\/p>\n\n

The appeal of the next shot is equally baffling to me; perhaps it's the colors...<\/p>\n\n
