This post continues the story started in\n“A Somewhat<\/span> Lackluster Day of Photography at Kyoto\u2019s Shouzan Resort<\/a>”,\nlast touched upon yesterday with\na bunch<\/span> of wigglegrams<\/a> from the garden.<\/p>\n\n

The only other time I came<\/span> (as seen two years ago in\n“Photo Shoot Among the Fall Colors at Shouzan<\/a>”),\nI hadn<\/span>'t realized that it was just a small<\/span> part of a larger<\/span> resort complex. This time I did<\/span>, so did a bit<\/span> of exploring.<\/p>\n\n

The path from the main part of the “resort” (which dates from 1948) is\nthrough a heavily<\/span> wooded and freely-accessible park, beautiful in its own\nright and in some ways nicer than the garden I'd paid to visit earlier in\nthe day. But the light<\/span> was fading fast, so photography was a challenge.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

At one point you see a gate and bridge below...<\/p>\n\n

... and when you get down there, the view was nice...<\/p>\n\n

... though I wish<\/span> I would<\/span> have shot at f\/1.4 and focused on the middle of the bridge.<\/p>\n\n

The path eventually led to the main part of the “resort”, with a large<\/span> outdoor swimming area (currently undergoing renovation),\na “chapel” that probably sees a lot<\/span> of wedding business on the weekends, shops and restaurants, a 50<\/span>+ lane bowling alley, etc.\nMusic that felt Bavarian was being played over the outside loudspeakers, so it sort of felt amusement-parkish.<\/p>\n\n
