Having become interested in upping my skill in taking portraits<\/a>, I cornered<\/span> Paul Barr to pose for some while we were at the Shisendo Temple\n(\u8a69\u4ed9\u5802)<\/span> yesterday (a wonderful<\/span> place Damien\nDouxchamps<\/a> introduced me to in a visit<\/span> last week, a few<\/span> photos from which made it to this post<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n

I brought my laptop with these photos to A's Bar<\/a>, a hole<\/span>-in-the-wall\nrestaurant\/bar with really excellent food (try the udon and avocado\/salmon\nsalads), and processed them with Paul. The limitless artistic\ndirections<\/a> that Lightroom affords meant we went round and round with\neach photo, but in the end is seems we tended toward either “bright and cheerful” or\n“gritty and rugged”....<\/p>\n\n\n
