Today was another fun but exhausting day of photography with Belgian Damien\nDouxchamps<\/a> on his last day visiting from near Tokyo. The other<\/span> day I posed<\/span> some desktop backgrounds<\/a> from Temples in north-east Kyoto,\nfrom our outing two days ago. Yesterday we spent quite a bit<\/span> of inspiring time at the Honnen-in Temple, but the cursory glance I gave<\/span>\nto my photos last night gave me a strong<\/span> “one of those days when it just doesn't work” feelings, so no post yesterday.<\/p>\n\n

Today we went to the Kongourinji Temple an hour's drive from Kyoto, in\nShiga Prefecture. I've posted much about this place (first in “First Taste of\nFall Colors at Shiga\u2019s Amazing Kongourinji Temple<\/a>” from a trip<\/span> about\nthis time of the season, two years ago), though I've barely scratched the\nsurface on what I want<\/span> to present, so today's haul of 500+ photos merely\nadds to my ever-increasing todo list. It's a nice<\/span> problem to have.<\/p>\n\n

It's still early in the fall-color season, so I'd guess that the temple grounds are a mere<\/span> 5% of the way toward peak color...<\/p>\n\n\n

We spent 5½ hours, mostly having the whole place to ourselves.\nI'll probably go back in a couple<\/span> of weeks, to what I'm sure will be a\npacked<\/span> madhouse. We'll see.<\/p>\n\n
