What a difference a day makes.<\/p>\n\n

Yesterday I had such a wonderful, inspiring time at the ikebana show at the Shoren'in\nTemple<\/a>; today was great until the evening when I had<\/span> the mind-numbing,\nsoul-sucking experience of spending four hours on half a dozen<\/span> travel web\nsites trying to find reasonable tickets for Fumie and her folks to visit my\nfolks this winter when Anthony and I are<\/span> already visiting.<\/p>\n\n

Through the process I became intimately familiar with global flight\nschedules, but was unable to produce an itinerary that combined the best\nflights for us... every travel web site I checked<\/span> would invariably not\noffer the best flight on one segment, no matter what options I selected.<\/span> To give you<\/span> a feel<\/span> for how desperate I became<\/span> trying to build this Atlantis\nitinerary, I even tried<\/span> the\npure-Evil that is Orbitz<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n

In the end I got an okay itinerary at a relatively<\/span> great price, so I\nguess<\/span> I shouldn't<\/span> complain. I also guess<\/span> I should<\/span> let my folks know that\nthey'll finally meet my wife's folks. (I suppose,<\/span> though, I've just done\nthat with this post.)<\/p>\n\n

In any case, the process left me devoid of life, so I quickly<\/span> scanned\nthrough the photos from yesterday's ikebana (flower-arranging) show presented\nat the eminently classy Shoren'in Temple, grabbing the first\nhalf dozen photos that calmed my nerves, and so here we are.<\/p>\n\n

Like yesterday's event, this post combines a number<\/span> of photogenic elements... a nice<\/span> temple,\nnice kimono, and nice flower arrangements. All have been<\/span> featured many times on my blog, but\nfor a few<\/span> ideas to explore...<\/p>\n\n
